Hi from the UK. e36 B3 question

Hi all

I'm from the UK and have a bad running B3 3.0 saloon, we have replaced many things but the problem still exists.

We now believe the DME is bad but would like to know if anyone is party out a B3 switchtronic at all?

Many thanks

Andrew

Hey AndyG,

I think there are a lot of more informations needed.
First what so you mean with bad running? Does the Engine Run On all 6 cylindes? Or does it Not reacting On throttle movements??
Some Info like this will help The guys who have experiance...

Addionally you should List all Parts you have already replaced.

Hi Ost,
I repleid to him in another thread. I think it was under the technical B3 section, but never got any answer back.

If we would have the VIN we can take a look at the DME who is used in this car. I think it is the same like mine 3.31.

Of course it would be better to have more Information about the problem.

But I think for now we have to wait for an answer.

Best Regards,
Oliver

Hey all

sorry for not coming back too quickly. I work away from home so no internet.
I have fixed the problem, and we did it with a replacement DME. The original was bad and could not read the knock sensor so the engine was in limp mode, but now we moved the alpina item from the old DME to the new one and it all works fine.

Hi Andy,
Thank you for your feedback and of course nice to hear that you found the fault. On the older DME´s it is pretty easy to swap the engine map to a used one. So you are a lucky guy man.

Waiting for your pictures asap.

Best Regards,
Oliver

B3 saloon

This is my B3, I took this picture a few months ago but it now has a repainted lower front spoiler and new licence plates. I'll take some more this week when I've cleaned it!
